Yogi Adityanath Announces 1 Lakh Government Job Appointments Over Next Six Months

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on August 25 announced that the state government will issue appointment letters to one lakh young people over the next six months.

Speaking at an appointment letter distribution programme in Lucknow, Adityanath highlighted the government's recruitment record since 2017. He said more than 9.30 lakh government jobs have been provided in Uttar Pradesh over the past nine-and-a-half years.

The chief minister said the next batch of one lakh candidates would receive appointment letters on a weekly basis during the coming six months.

At the Lucknow event, appointment letters were distributed to 3,446 technical assistants and 126 market secretaries.

Adityanath also contrasted the current recruitment process with the system before 2017, alleging that government recruitment was previously affected by corruption, delays and political interference. He said candidates often faced prolonged uncertainty after recruitment advertisements were issued, with some cases eventually reaching the courts.

According to Adityanath, the issue was not a lack of merit among young people but alleged corruption within recruitment bodies and government institutions. He stressed that transparent and non-discriminatory selection would allow the state to make better use of its young workforce.

The chief minister also linked recruitment reforms with the government's stated zero-tolerance policy towards crime and corruption. He said strict action would continue against organised networks involved in examination cheating and promised punishment for those operating such networks.

UP Has Seven Months of Sugar Stock, Says CM

Addressing concerns over sugar availability, Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh currently has sufficient stocks to meet domestic demand.

He said the state consumes around four lakh tonnes of sugar every month and has approximately 28 lakh tonnes in stock, equivalent to around seven months of supply.

Sugar mills are expected to resume operations from October 15, with the state projected to produce another 90 lakh tonnes of sugar, he said.

Adityanath added that Uttar Pradesh has sufficient production capacity to meet its own requirements and contribute to supplies elsewhere in the country.

Overseas Jobs for UP Workers

The chief minister also highlighted overseas employment opportunities for workers from Uttar Pradesh. He said countries including Japan, Germany and Israel have shown interest in recruiting young people from the state.

According to Adityanath, around 5,000 workers from Uttar Pradesh have already travelled to Israel for employment, earning approximately Rs 1.5 lakh per month along with food and accommodation.

He said the government's employment and recruitment initiatives are part of a broader effort to create more opportunities for the state's young population.

Adityanath also compared the state's current situation with conditions before 2017, referring to issues such as migration, farmer distress, women's safety concerns and the influence of criminal groups.

The chief minister said the government's focus on jobs, recruitment, law and order and employment opportunities is aimed at changing the state's image and expanding opportunities for young people.
