Heyy Babyy 2 Confirmed: Sajid Nadiadwala Announces Sequel to Akshay Kumar Comedy

The much-loved Bollywood comedy Heyy Babyy is set to return with a sequel. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has confirmed that Heyy Babyy 2 is currently in the works, nearly two decades after the original film hit theatres.

The announcement was made on September 3, 2026, during Australian Premier Chris Minns' visit to Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment's office in Mumbai.

The upcoming sequel will be part of a three-film collaboration between Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Australia-based production company TEMPLE. The projects are planned to be filmed in Australia.

Heyy Babyy 2 to return to Australia

The original Heyy Babyy, released in 2007, was filmed in Australia and starred Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan in the lead roles.

With the sequel also set to be shot in Australia, the franchise will return to a location closely associated with the first film. However, the makers have not yet revealed details about the story, shooting schedule or the complete cast of Heyy Babyy 2.

It is also not yet clear which members of the original cast will return for the sequel.

Sajid Nadiadwala on filming in Australia

Sajid Nadiadwala highlighted Australia's scenic locations and its film-friendly environment while discussing the three-film collaboration.

He said the production team's previous experiences in Australia had been positive and praised the country's professional infrastructure and support for filmmakers.

Nadiadwala added that the experience had encouraged his production house to consider Australia an important destination for upcoming projects.

Australian Premier Chris Minns visits Mumbai

Chris Minns visited India between August 31 and September 3 and met the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment team during his Mumbai visit.

The discussions reportedly focused on future film productions and the production house's long-standing connection with Australia. The collaboration comes at a time when India and Australia have strengthened opportunities for film production through a co-production treaty.

For fans of the 2007 comedy, the confirmation of Heyy Babyy 2 marks the return of a popular franchise, although more information about its cast, director and storyline is expected to be announced later.
