Bombay High Court Cancels Clerk Typing Test After Technical Glitches, Orders Fresh Exam

The Bombay High Court has cancelled the typing test conducted for the recruitment of 1,362 clerk posts and ordered a fresh examination after candidates reported widespread technical problems at centres across Maharashtra.

The decision was announced on Saturday following days of protests and complaints from candidates who alleged that technical failures had affected their performance during the recruitment test.

Around 13,000 candidates had qualified to participate in the typing test.

Candidates Reported Multiple Technical Problems

Candidates alleged that several examination centres experienced technical difficulties during the test.

The complaints included server and hardware failures, software delays, unexpected logouts and differences in the time at which candidates were able to begin the examination.

Applicants argued that the problems disrupted their attempts and created unequal testing conditions for candidates appearing at different centres.

The issue subsequently triggered protests as candidates demanded that the authorities address the alleged irregularities and ensure a fair recruitment process.

High Court Orders Fresh Typing Test

The High Court has now cancelled the typing test held on August 16.

In a notice issued on Saturday, the Registrar (Personnel) said the examination was being cancelled to uphold the “highest standards of fairness in selection process”.

The court has ordered that the typing test be conducted again.

Details regarding the new examination date, schedule and examination centres will be announced separately through the Bombay High Court's official website.

Fresh Test for Eligible Candidates

The cancellation means candidates affected by the technical problems will get another opportunity to participate in the recruitment process.

The authorities are expected to provide details of the revised examination arrangements once the new schedule is finalised.

The decision is intended to ensure that all candidates are assessed under uniform and fair conditions.

The typing test forms part of the recruitment process for 1,362 clerk vacancies in the Bombay High Court.
