PM Modi speaks to Iran’s President, condemns attacks on key infrastructure amid escalating West Asia conflict.

Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian amid escalating tensions in West Asia, strongly condemning attacks on critical infrastructure in the region.

During the call, PM Modi expressed concern that such attacks threaten regional stability and disrupt global supply chains. He emphasized the urgent need for peace and stability as the ongoing conflict continues to intensify.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of safeguarding global trade routes, stressing that shipping lanes must remain open and secure—especially amid disruptions in key maritime routes like the Strait of Hormuz.

The conversation took place on the occasion of Eid and Nowruz, with both leaders expressing hope that the festive season would bring peace, prosperity, and stability to the region.

This marks one of several diplomatic efforts by India to engage with regional leaders as the Iran-Israel conflict continues to escalate, raising global concerns over security, energy supplies, and economic stability.
